Issue 1: Microscopy 1 - Discovering an invisible world [Access the PDF]
With four educational activities, this issue presents the microscope and the invisible world to which it gives access. The activities teach the properties of the instrument, its operation, the necessary care for its use and preparations for the observation of simple materials.
Issue 2: Experimenting with the microscope [Access the PDF]
The five activities in this issue rehearse the use of a microscope, from the observation of plant cells, the effect of light on chloroplasts, the movement of water through cell membranes, the microscopic analysis of pigment extraction and, finally, the assembly of a puzzle of plant cells.
Issue 3: Schematizing and modeling cells with real microscopic images [Access the PDF]
In the last issue of the series on microscopes, three activities familiarize the student with real images of cells, obtained by optical or electron microscopes. The objective is to free the student from the book systems and allow him to elaborate his own scheme, from real images.
Issue 4: Dengue I - Playing to discover news [Access the PDF]
In this issue, four activities reveal in a playful way the biology, morphology and life habits of the Aedes aegypti, mosquito that transmits dengue. Using puzzles and a game of mistakes, the student is invited to compare it to another mosquito of the same genus (the Aedes albopictus, which transmits dengue in Asian countries) and the common mosquito (Culex quinquefasciatus). The memory game, on the other hand, invites you to learn about the stages of the vector's life cycle.
Issue 5: Dengue II - The path of the dengue virus [Access the PDF]
This booklet provides simplified information on mosquito biology, ecology and morphology. Aedes aegypti, infected or not by the dengue virus. Through ludic elements, recreational activities are proposed to establish knowledge about the life cycle of the dengue vector, with the aim of finding answers to the question: what to do to control the spread of dengue?
ComScience and Art at School
Issue 1: Science and Art in dialogic music workshops [Access the PDF]
Combining science, art and music, the issue proposes a learning methodology that makes it possible to discuss scientific topics in a playful and fun way. The songs can be worked on in workshops, with groups of students, in a dialogical and thematic way, focusing on conversations and questions.
Issue 2: Brazil without extreme poverty in dialogic music workshops [Access the PDF]
The dialogical issue with music seeks to bring science, art and culture to schools in locations that are fighting against extreme poverty, where the “Expedições Fiocfight for Brazil without Extreme Poverty”. With the material, it is possible to organize workshops that discuss situations of social vulnerability, serving as a teaching strategy in science classes and other subjects.
AFiocruz, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger, aims to stimulate the generation of knowledge aimed at eradicating problems related to extreme poverty, also collaborating to qualify public and social agents who work in policies, programs and actions within the scope of the Brasil sem Miséria Plan.
Issue 3: Earth and Universe/Technology and Society in dialogical music workshops [Access the PDF]
Elaborated for elementary school science classes, the issues Earth and Universe and Technology and Society bring thematic axes aligned with the National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs). The proposal is to approach with music themes related to technology and the study of the Earth and the Universe and propose a dialogue about how these sources of resources are being used by society. The material presents an articulated organization of different concepts, procedures, attitudes and values for each level of education.
Part 4: Human Beings and Health/Life and Environment in dialogic music workshops [Access the PDF]
The fascicles intended to help teachers to develop workshops and interactive activities present suggestions for activities that stimulate and develop creativity linked to art and science. Aimed at elementary school students, it allows understanding of the integrity of the body. Debates on the environmental issue, involving economic, political, social and historical aspects can also be addressed.
Part 5: Health/ Sexual orientation/ Environment in dialogic music workshops [Access the PDF]
With a more comprehensive approach, the fascicles encourage the analysis and discussion of topics such as the Environment, Health and Sexual Orientation. Although often found in many science curricula, they are not treated in a broader and more complex way. The material brings 6 activities that include songs and questions to be addressed and discussed in workshops or activities with students.
