Started in 2015, the Program IOC+Escolas aims to promote the participation of researchers and collaborators of the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/FIOCRUZ) in activities aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge to the population, especially involving public schools in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Among the purposes of the Program are to encourage the participation of professors and students of the IOC in institutional and extra-institutional scientific dissemination actions and carry out initiatives related to the transversality of health-related themes beyond the institution's walls.

Divided into three axes of action – science education, health promotion and scientific dissemination – the program promotes meetings between researchers and students and is present in activities developed in schools and in institutional events aimed at bringing science closer to society, in a light way. and with excellence.
