Trypanosomatid Biochemistry Laboratory

The Trypanosomatid Biochemistry Laboratory (LBQT) at Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/Fiocruz) has been dedicated since 1998 to the study of trypanosomatid chemotherapy through different approaches. 

In basic research, it operates in the definition of new pharmacological targets, study of metabolic pathways, mechanisms of action and resistance, and screening of libraries of substances. 

In development and innovation, it participates in new formulation proposals. 

The group maintains collaborations with renowned national and international institutions. It also participates in teaching and scientific dissemination activities, in addition to training human resources.
