Cellular Communication Laboratory

The Cellular Communication Laboratory (LCC) of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) works since 2004 in the field of Translational Biophysics. 

Currently, four lines of research are developed in the laboratory, whose goals are to promote technological innovations in the areas of health and teaching: 

1. Study of gap junctions and purinergic receptors in the immune system; 

2. Study of the photodynamic action in the treatment of tumors; 

3. Cell therapy; 

4. Teaching science and health.
