The Center for Advanced Studies of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) is a space of convergence between science, politics, and philosophy. It promotes interdisciplinary dialogues that broaden the frontiers of knowledge, articulate Brazilian scientific intelligence, and respond, with rigor and creativity, to the great challenges of our time.
In 2025, the activity became part of the Brazilian Forum for Advanced Studies (Fobreav), which brings together more than 15 centers for advanced studies in the country. Learn about the participating institutions and other information. here.
The next edition of the event will be held on May 27th at 14 PM, featuring a lecture by the president of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), Olival Freire Junior, on the theme "CNPq – 75 Years of Science for a Sovereign Country: Challenges for the Next Four Years".
