Opening Week of the Academic Year IOC 2026

Activities include a graduation ceremony, student gathering, and discussions on education and inclusion.

On March 9, 10 and 13, 2026, the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) promotes the Opening Week of the 2026 Academic Year, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and institutional representatives in a program focused on celebrating academic training and strengthening postgraduate policies.

The activities will take place in the Arthur Neiva Pavilion, on the F campus.iocruz, in Manguinhos and will be broadcast by channel IOC on Youtube.

The program begins on March 9th with the graduation ceremony for the Postgraduate Programs of IOC Regarding the 2025 cycle. The event will include a reception and registration for Alumni, and an institutional panel with representatives from the Education Department of F.iocRuz and the Institute's Board of Directors, in addition to the graduation ceremony and get-together.

On March 10th, the III Meeting of Student Representatives will be held. IOC, an exclusive space for interaction and alignment among students involved in academic representation.

Closing out the week, on March 13th, the official opening of the 2026 Academic Year will take place, with an institutional panel and a session integrated with the Center for Studies of... IOC with the theme “Decoloniality in education: political and institutional challenges for building inclusive policies in postgraduate studies”. The agenda continues in the afternoon with the activity “Welcoming in Postgraduate Studies: institutional policies, care practices and student retention strategies”. The program will address topics related to teaching in IOCInternationalization and scientific diplomacy, protection of intellectual property, institutional listening, student support, and inclusive pedagogical practices.

The Opening of the Academic Year reaffirms the commitment of IOC with excellence in scientific training, the appreciation of the academic community, and the strengthening of institutional strategies aimed at retention, inclusion, and innovation in postgraduate studies.
