The Center for Studies opens its 2026 program with a debate on scientific collaboration in One Health.

Featuring a speaker from Kenya, the meeting addresses the borders between the Amazon and the African Savannah.

The Study Center of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) will hold its first session of 2026 on February 6th at 10:00 AM, with the theme "North-South and South-South Scientific Collaboration in One Health studies on the borders of the Amazon and the African Savannah". 

The event will feature a lecture by Victor N. Mose, co-director and head of Biostatistics Services at the African Conservation Centre – Amboseli Conservation Programme, in Nairobi, Kenya. The researcher will discuss experiences and challenges of international scientific cooperation in territories that are strategic for human, animal, and environmental health, from the perspective of One Health.

The mediation will be conducted by Paulo Peiter, a researcher at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases of [Institution Name]. IOC, promoting dialogue between experiences developed in Africa and the Amazon.

The Study Center of IOC It is a permanent space for scientific discussion, bringing together experts from different fields to debate topics relevant to research, public health, and scientific development.
