The Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) participated, between March 9 and 13, in a mission to Mozambique for the launch of the Stricto sensu Postgraduate Educational Program in Health Sciences.
With the goal of training masters and doctoral students and strengthening international cooperation in the health field, the initiative is promoted by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) in partnership with the National Institute of Health of Mozambique (INS).
The program adopts a consortium format and brings together 13 postgraduate courses from Fiocruz, distributed across different units and areas of knowledge. Within the scope of IOCThe postgraduate programs in Tropical Medicine, Parasitic Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Computational and Systems Biology participate.

Coordinated by the head of the Institute's Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, Martha Suárez-Mutis, the program has as one of its main focuses the construction of a structuring cooperation between Brazil and Mozambique, aimed at the qualification of professionals and the strengthening of research and the Mozambican health system.
The initiative reinforces the commitment of IOC with the internationalization of education and scientific training in Portuguese-speaking countries, contributing to the joint tackling of public health challenges.
