The director of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/FiocTania Araujo-Jorge, from Ruz, was honored during the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Teaching area of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes).
The event, held in Brasília on March 9th, brought together researchers, representatives of scientific societies, and managers in a program featuring panel discussions and presentations on the field's landscape, indicators from the recently released four-year evaluation by CAPES, and reflections on the evaluation of scientific articles in the field.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for discussions about the future challenges of the field and for moments of reunion among the experts who participated in building this trajectory.
Tania was the third coordinator of the area and led the department for two terms. During the ceremony, she was recognized for her contribution to the consolidation and strengthening of the area.
“Receiving this honor was very special. I was the first — and to this day the only — person from Fioc"It was very meaningful to coordinate an area and participate in the CAPES Higher Education Technical-Scientific Council. Contributing to the strengthening of the Science and Mathematics Education area and seeing the recognition given to the coordinators in the 25th-anniversary celebration was very significant," emphasized the director of [the institution/organization]. She also highlighted the impact of the experience on her career path.
“Participating in this process represented significant personal and professional growth. During my time on the Council, I had the opportunity to visit various programs and universities, which greatly contributed to my development as a researcher and manager in the areas of health and education,” she added.
Created with the goal of producing knowledge and establishing bridges between academic research in education and its application in educational products and processes, the Education area operates at different levels and modalities of education. Its scope includes everything from early childhood education to doctoral studies, as well as non-formal education initiatives, such as scientific and artistic outreach activities developed in various educational spaces.
The proposal aims to integrate the field of education with different areas of knowledge, contributing to promoting transformations in both Basic Education and Higher Education, and thus strengthening the scientific and technological development of the country.
