On April 24 and 25, the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/Fiocruz) occupies the Rio Art Museum (MAR), in Praça Mauá (RJ), in a double program, which brings together the first edition of PartyIOC Rio – Inova Saúde & CienciArte Festival and 12th Science, Art and Citizenship Symposium (CAC 2026).
With free admission, the event proposes a dialogue between science, art and society, with attractions for all ages, and marks the closing of the celebrations for the 125th anniversary of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute.
The activities take place from 10 am to 18 pm, with free admission to different areas of the museum and... programming distributed among an auditorium, exhibition rooms, and interactive areas.
In its debut, the FestIOC Rio promotes immersive experiences that invite the public to explore scientific themes through art and innovation.

Meanwhile, CAC 2026 brings together experts to discuss contemporary issues at the intersections of inclusion, youth, social networks, decoloniality, and the impacts of climate on health.
Scattered throughout different areas of MAR, interactive stands from laboratories of IOCBio-Manguinhos and partner institutions will present topics such as vaccines, biodiversity, climate change, insects, fungi, arboviruses, nanotechnology, and public health. In these facilities, the public will be able to participate in multiple hands-on activities, games, and scientific demonstrations.
The program also includes cultural attractions and recreational activities, such as musical performances, visual experiences, and creative workshops—including origami, cultural astronomy, spectroscopy, theater, and art applied to science. CienciArte installations and exhibitions complete the experience, inviting visitors to see science from new perspectives.
On the main stage, flash talks, reverse pitches, and roundtables foster encounters between researchers, startups, and representatives from public and private institutions, addressing current issues such as innovation in healthcare, climate change, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in the Brazilian public health system (SUS).
