Revista 'Memories' accelerates the publication process for studies related to the theme
By Maira Menezes09/03/2016 - Updated on 18/06/2021

The journal 'Memories of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute' provides a fast track called the 'Zika Fast Track' for the publication of articles related to the Zika virus and its probable associations with congenital malformations and neurological syndromes. Studies on the subject submitted for publication in the journal will be published online within 24 hours. To guide readers, in articles published in this system, it will be pointed out that the peer review process is in progress. The procedures for submitting articles will not change.

“The editorial decision to accelerate the publication of research on the Zika virus was taken considering the commitment to the rapid dissemination of scientific information related to the public health emergency of international concern, declared by the World Health Organization”, points out Claude Pirmez, one of the editors of the journal. Founded in 1909, the magazine 'Memories' is free twice as much for access as for publication. Click here to access articles published in the 'Zika Fast Track' section.
