The Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC/FiocOn the morning of February 11th, the Institute of Biotechnology (ruz) held the closing workshop for the 2025/2026 class of the Biotechnology Technician Course. At the event, 18 graduating students presented their projects developed during their supervised internship in the Institute's laboratories, marking the completion of a year of training.
Designed for high school graduates, the course integrates theoretical and practical training, preparing professionals to work in research and technological development aligned with the demands of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). The program includes training in laboratory and field routines, quality control, and processes in Biotechnology and related areas.

The final stage of training is dedicated to supervised internships in the laboratories of IOC, a period in which students develop projects under the guidance of researchers from the institution.
Students presented their projects to the academic community, marking the final stage of their training.
The coordinator of the Institute's Technical Courses, Paulo Roberto Stephens, highlighted the importance of practical experience in consolidating learning and bringing students closer to the research environment.
"The course has an initial workload of theory and practice. In the last three months, students enter the laboratories of..." IOC"Where they do internships and develop projects presented in poster format. These projects are evaluated and contribute to the final grade for course completion," he explained.
The coordinator of the technical courses at IOCPaulo Roberto Stephens accompanied the activities.
For the graduates, the workshop represented the culmination of a cycle of dedication and in-depth technical training.
“I am very proud of my journey and grateful to everyone in the course and during my internship, which gave me the opportunity to talk about what I love: fungi. I am very happy,” said student Carolina de Oliveira Cabango.

The closing ceremony featured a performance by the F Choir.iocRuz, in a moment of celebration that brought together students, teachers, researchers and family members, marking the graduation of the 2025/2026 class and the success of another training cycle at the Institute.
