On December 14, 2016, the Presidency of the Republic published, in the Official Gazette of the Union, Decree No. 8.932, which ratifies the approval of the Statute and of a new Demonstration Table of Positions in Commission and Trust Functions of the Foundation. The Statute of Fiocruz had originally been approved in a presidential decree in June 2003. The document is the result of a struggle of more than 16 years by the entire Foundation community.
